Terms of use

Who we are

• Soy Fluent teaches the English of your profession.
• Soy Fluent belongs to SOYFLUENT, tax ID (NIT) 03995059, at Calle 42 G 74 A 55, 10-528, Bogotá, Colombia.
• To write to us: hanna@soyfluent.com.
• These terms are governed by the law of Colombia. Any dispute is settled by the courts of Bogotá.

What we offer you

• The Fluent at Work app, at app.soyfluent.com: paths of short lessons for your profession, with speaking practice.
• The app is in beta. It may change, and sometimes fail, while we improve it.
• One-to-one classes with your tutor, live, 50 minutes each.

Your account

• You can use the app with no account. If you create one, it is yours alone: one person per account.
• You sign in with your email. Keep access to that email safe: whoever opens your email can open your account.

Free lessons and paid plans

• The first five lessons of a path are free.
• One path: you pay once and the path is yours for good.
• Unlimited: you pay one month at a time. Every path, and one live group class a month with people at your level.
• 1 to 1 classes: $30 per 50-minute class. Or a pack of 12 classes, in one payment of $300: $25 per class. Your first trial class is free.

Prices

• All prices are in US dollars.
• While the beta is open, one path costs $29.50 instead of $59, and Unlimited $9.99 a month instead of $19.99.
• The price you see at the moment you buy is the price that applies.
• We do not charge anything in the app yet. When payment opens, you can pay by card or PayPal, through PayPal, or by transfer with Wise, Bancolombia, NuBank or Nequi, straight to Soy Fluent.
• With PayPal, your access opens when the payment is confirmed. With a transfer, it opens when the Soy Fluent team confirms it arrived.

Monthly plan: one month at a time

• Unlimited is paid one month at a time. It does not renew by itself, and we never charge you unless you pay.
• You can stop or cancel Unlimited whenever you like. If you do not ask for your money back, you keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
• If you ask for your money back within the 14 days, we refund you and your access closes straight away.
• To keep going for another month, you pay again. If you pay before your month ends, the new month is added to the end.

How to get your money back: Refunds

1 to 1 classes

• Each class is one to one, live, and lasts 50 minutes. The first trial class is free.
• After the trial class, you book your classes on your tutor's calendar, in the app.
• You pay in the app with PayPal, or by transfer with Wise, Bancolombia, NuBank or Nequi. If you pay by transfer, send a photo of the receipt in the app chat.
• You can move or cancel a class up to 12 hours before it starts.
• If you cancel with less than 12 hours' notice, or miss a class without telling your tutor, that class is lost.
• If your tutor cancels, you find another time together. If no time works for both of you, we refund that class.

Acceptable use

• Use Soy Fluent to learn, yourself.
• Do not copy, sell or share the lessons outside the app.
• Do not try to harm the app, get into other people's accounts, or use it with automated programs.
• Treat your tutor and everyone else with respect.
• If someone does not respect these terms, we may close their account.

For learning English, nothing more

• The lessons teach English. They are not medical, legal or professional advice.
• The Healthcare path teaches you to speak English with patients and colleagues. It does not teach medicine and does not replace your training, your workplace protocols or a professional's judgement.
• For any clinical, legal or business decision, follow the rules of your profession.

AI practice

• AI practice uses assistants from other companies, which you choose.
• Each assistant has its own terms and its own privacy policy.
• Its answers can be wrong. If something does not sound right, ask your tutor.

Changes to these terms

• If we change these terms, we also change the date at the top.
• If you keep using Soy Fluent after a change, you accept the new terms.
